| USW Approves Bridgestone-Firestone Contracts
Members of the United Steelworkers (USW) have ratified three-year agreements with Bridgestone-Firestone. The agreements cover 5,200 members at eight Bridgestone-Firestone facilities, including a Firestone air spring plant in Noblesville. The contract lasts through July 18, 2009.

Effect of Hormone Therapy on Risk of Heart Disease May Vary by Age ...
WASHINGTON, April 3, 2007-Secondary analyses of findings from the Womens Health Initiative (WHI) suggest that women who begin hormone therapy within 10 years of menopause may have less risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) due to hormone therapy than women farther from menopause. Overall, hormone therapy did not reduce the risk of CHD. However, the farther a woman was from the onset of menopause when she began hormone therapy, the greater her risk of CHD due to hormone therapy appeared to be. Although these findings did not meet statistical significance, they suggest that the health consequences of hormone therapy may vary by time from menopause. .
Exercise benefits the body and brain
Nutrition and exercise no longer are topics reserved for health and fitness magazines. And with good reason. Everyone needs to become more aware of the health benefits of exercise, benefits that are both physical and, as Newsweek showed extensively in its cover story last month, mental. The AJC on Thursday ran a front-page story on new guidelines aimed at childhood obesity. I try not to beat people over the head with this stuff, but I'd be remiss as a personal trainer and your fitness columnist if I didn't occasionally extol the virtues of exercise and eating right and encourage you (yes, I'm talking to you) to get active. Many of us already have taken heed and are exercising regularly, watching what we eat —- and feeling so much better for it. To those, you deserve a pat on the back.
