Innovative pulmonary and PEGylation-based therapeutic product development is the focus of two new business units recently created at Nektar Therapeutics (Nasdaq: NKTR), the company announced recently. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation: Volunteers are needed at the Walk to Cure Diabetes on May 19 at Riverside Park, Neenah. The Fox Cities Victim Crisis Response Team: Concerned community members who have the desire to assist people in crisis are needed. Volunteers will attend a 20-hour training session that covers crisis intervention, trauma, community referrals, the criminal justice system and more. The next training session will be 6-10 p.m. May 16 and 18 and 9-4 p.m. May 19 and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. May 20. All training will be held at the Menasha Police Department, 430 First Street, Menasha. PARK CITY, Utah, April 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Nutraceutical International Corporation (NASDAQ: NUTR) today reported results for the fiscal 2007 second quarter ended March 31, 2007. Net sales for the fiscal 2007 second quarter were $42.1 million compared to $41.0 million for the same quarter of fiscal 2006. For the second quarter, net income was $4.2 million, or $0.37 diluted earnings per share, compared to net income of $5.0 million ($4.3 million excluding a $0.7 million gain from a building sale), or $0.43 diluted earnings per share ($0.37 excluding $0.06 per share from a building sale), for the same quarter of fiscal 2006. Net sales for the six months ended March 31, 2007 were $78.0 million compared to $77.7 million for the same period in fiscal 2006. For the six months ended March 31, 2007, net income was $7.5 million, or $0.67 diluted earnings per share, compared to $8.5 million ($7.8 million excluding a $0.7 million gain from a building sale), or $0.73 ($0.67 excluding $0.06 per share from a building sale), for the same period of fiscal 2006.
