| Eco Health and Wellness Fair is May 8
The annual Wellness Fair has expanded its focus this year to become the Eco Health and Wellness Fair, a collaboration between the Wellness Center and the Student Health Outreach and Promotion (SHOP). It will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, in Quarry Plaza. Arranged like a resource fair, the event will have many informative booths with ecology and health professionals from the UCSC community as well as the Santa Cruz community, free health assesments, screenings, refreshments, prizes and more. "Ask a Yogi", "Ask a Doctor" and "Ask a Sexpert" will be additional booths providing specialized information. A Luna booth will provide information on women's health and nutrition. Chair massages will be offered by Shelly Patton and the Wholistic Health Program. Free health assessments are scheduled to include strength testing and body fat index and mental health screenings for depression, anxiety and eating disorders.

Universal Health Services, Inc. Reports 2007 First Quarter Earnings
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., April 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Universal Health Services, Inc. UHS announced today that its reported net income was $49.5 million, or $.92 per diluted share, during the first quarter of 2007 as compared to $51.1 million, or $.88 per diluted share, during the comparable prior year quarter. Reported income from continuing operations was $49.6 million, or $.92 per diluted share, during the first quarter of 2007 as compared to $50.5 million, or $.87 per diluted share, during the first quarter of 2006. After adjusting for the items mentioned below, and/or as indicated on the attached Schedule of Non-GAAP Supplemental Consolidated Statements of Income Information ("Supplemental Schedule"), our adjusted income from continuing operations increased 15% to $47.9 million during the first quarter of 2007 as compared to $41.5 million during the comparable prior year quarter.
Two from Tech Win Prestigious Goldwater Scholarship
Two Georgia Tech students are the recipients of the prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship. Awarded for academic merit, the Goldwater is the premier undergraduate award of its type in the fields of mathematics, science and engineering. The winners, Inn Inn Chen and Yixao Zou, are both students in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University (BME). Chen, a junior from Sterret, Ala., was also named to USA Todays 2007 all-USA College Academic Team earlier this year. At Tech she is working on collaborative projects in regenerative medicine as well as creating novel tissue engineering and stem cell therapies for clinical use. Along with her BME degree, Chen is working toward a certificate in Engineering Entrepreneurship to bring new therapies to the market.
